The Footscray Traders Association (FTA) represents retail and commercial businesses throughout central Footscray to promote Footscray as a great place to trade and shop.

A key aim of the FTA is to organise marketing, promotion, business development activities, and to communicate regularly - with business operators, property owners, and the wider Footscray community - about activities in the Centre.

The FTA presents a strong, united, and representative voice to Maribyrnong City Council and other authorities on behalf of all businesses in the Centre.   It will work with Council to improve streetscape, parking, traffic works, and other measures in the Centre.

The FTA organises and manages fees from business members as well as contributions from sponsors.  The funds collected are used for the marketing and development of the Centre.

Annual fees for full business members of FTA are $50.   Non-business individuals or groups are welcome to join as associate members (non-voting) at no cost.

The  FTA was incorporated as a business association in March 2007.
